The Jeans Edit – Part One – The Leather Jacket

The Jeans Edit – Part One – The Leather Jacket

I Just love a good pair of Jeans, Especially with a great Leather Jacket

However, I don’t know if you agree with me but although there is now far more choice on the market, choosing one that fits the brief and your body for that matter is becoming increasingly difficult.

You know we have everything from Mum Fit ( Which let’s face it could be taken either way) to Boyfriend Fit, Slim Fit, Wide Leg, Skinny Blah Blah, you get the message.

And each fit makes a certain assumption. For example, if you want to wear a pair of jeans that are low rise, you can only wear these if you don’t have a little junk in your trunk. So that counts me out for a start. That overhang was never a good look!

And what about stretch. What if you just want to be able to move in your jeans but really are not bothered if you can manage the splits or not.

Then, of course, there is the wash on the denim, and if it is ripped, frayed or distressed.  Black, Grey, White, Pink Hmmm

Do you have a headache yet πŸ™‚

What if we were to just go out there, grab a handful sizing up and down and just spend the best part of one day searching for the perfect pair. Because believe you me once you have found them you are so pleased with yourself.

Okay so say you have taken my advice, thrown caution to the wind, stepped out of your Denim Comfort Zone and found the pair to take you through the season. Or until you put on that half a stone because of too many servings of pudding…

What are you going to style it with? Well, that is where this little series comes into play.

The First Look is Teaming your Jeans with a Leather Jacket

Now this Leather Jacket was an absolute bargain. Firstly because it is Vintage, and secondly because the quality of it is amazing. I mean I have other leather jackets which are from High Street Stores, but this one stands out by a mile.  Vintage Shopping was something I always fancied giving a go. But not really knowing where to start making it a little more difficult. I mean I have a certain very good friend who always grabs amazing outfits from charity shops. Yet I never seem to find anything.

So I decided to do what I always do and that is learning a little from the Internet. Well, mainly Youtube.

Two of my favourites at the moment are Karen Brit Chick and Laura Blair

Karen is well known for loving Mens Suits and she has a point, to be honest. Anyway, I digress. Go take a look if you fancy a bit of inspiration.

I found this leather jacket in a Vintage Shop called That Vintage Shop in Kingston Upon Thames. To be honest I could have purchased a whole host of other items along the way too. So maybe it is something I will pursue for the future. Watch this space.

You could also grab some vintage hightops and a classic band tee. And I have to admit these Jeans fit pretty well, even on a bloaty day. They are from Dorothy Perkins, and are Boyfriend Fit!

I live in jeans. Always have, always will. But YES to this! I don;t even know half the names of the types myself and what the difference is between so many!
I generally opt for skinny, distressed and straight leg. πŸ‘In ink, washed blue and black.lol πŸ‘
Love this look. I’m all over casual styling. πŸ™‚

Thanks for your comment, Caroline. I do find that a Mum fit looks better on someone who hasn’t had kids and is younger than myself. Also if you have hips and a rather large backside they do you no favours. Jeans are a minefield haha x Sarah x
