The other night I received a text with the question, how do I do Party dressing for a Party in a Pub? Unfortunately, my typing skills were a little lacking due to the fact that I was removing gel polish.
So I resembled Edward Scissorhands!
Anyway, with the aid of my husband, I managed to fire away a couple of replies. But it got me thinking as to the outfits I would choose for such an occasion.
Obviously, I didn’t want to look as though I was going to the office, so a pair of trousers and a blazer were out of the question. Also, trousers with a blouse can look a tad office like too unless the blouse is a little more party wear and the shoes resemble fun rather than comfort.
But what if you don’t want to buy anything new, and you do have a blazer that is a little less formal, and also an array of cute strappy tops that stay hidden in your wardrobe.
Then queue the Jeans, Heels and Blazer Combo. Not only is this look rather affordable, but it can also be utilised in many other ways.
For a start, the Jeans can be dressed down with that cozy knit, fur boots and oversized jacket. And the blazer could be worn over a satin slip dress.
More often now I try and think about the many ways I can pair outfits together to gain longevity out of any new pieces I purchase. Always being a serial scanner tends to help in this area. Mainly because I don’t tend to waste my time looking at items I know just won’t work for me. Or spend unnecessary cash I don’t have.
However, with all of this in mind, it does, depend on the type of pub. Is it really a pub or is it a wine bar, cocktail lounge blah blah blah. Which of course means that you can extend the idea’s from this post. Or check out my thoughts in my first party dressing edit here xx
